It is our belief that the majority of the musculoskeletal pain that patients suffer is a result of faulty bio-mechanics due to tight joints, soft tissues, and shortened muscles. This occurs because of the way our bodies are designed, they adapt to our environment. Sitting in constrained positions for long periods of time promote tissue shortening and our body adapts accordingly. Muscles, tendons, ligaments and connective tissue become short, dehydrated and eventually permanently shorter until some event or activity changes this scenario. As a result, poor movement control patterns typically develop at a very young age. Our therapists utilize manual therapy techniques to address these faulty bio-mechanics. Manual therapy can be defined as the skillful use of the hands to mobilize/manipulate joints, massage and lengthen soft tissues, and monitor and facilitate improved neuromuscular control. This approach requires considerable one-on-one time between the therapist and the client. Our objective is to improve the mechanics of movement, utilizing manual therapy techniques.
Our desired goal is to return our clients to a normal functional level with the confidence to live an active lifestyle.
